Live salary benchmarks from real job postings.
Monthly-refreshed compensation data for US tech roles. Built from job postings, not stale surveys.
Early-access product. We're shaping this with early partners.
Why existing compensation data falls short.
Survey data is slow and stale
Traditional compensation surveys update annually or semi-annually, missing rapid market shifts in fast-moving tech roles.
Hard to slice by role and location
Generic job families and broad regions make it difficult to benchmark specific roles in the metros you actually hire in.
Time-consuming to build internally
Pulling together your own benchmarks from job boards requires engineering resources and constant maintenance.
What NextWork Data gives you today.
Benchmarks by role group and metro
Filter by specific role families (ML Engineer, Data Scientist, etc.) and major US tech metros. See p50, p75, and p90 comp by location.
Monthly-refresh dataset
Data refreshes every month with the latest job postings. Track how comp ranges shift as the market evolves.
Transparent methodology
See sample sizes and data sources for each benchmark. No black-box algorithms—you know what's behind the numbers.
Simple web app, fast filtering
No complex workflows. Log in, select your role and location filters, and export results in minutes.

How the data works.
We built NextWork Data to give you confidence in the numbers. Here's what happens behind the scenes.
Data sources
We collect job postings from major platforms (LinkedIn, company career pages, and aggregators). Focus is on US tech companies and high-growth startups.
Salary extraction & normalization
We extract salary ranges from postings, normalize to annual base salary (excluding equity and bonus where disclosed separately), and standardize location data to metro areas.
Monthly refresh cadence
Data refreshes on the first of each month with the prior 90 days of postings. This keeps benchmarks current without daily noise.
Quality checks
We trim statistical outliers and enforce minimum sample sizes per benchmark (typically n≥30). If a role/location combo doesn't meet the threshold, we don't publish it.
Where we are today.
Currently focused on US tech hubs (San Francisco, New York, Seattle, Austin, etc.) and ML/AI/Data roles. We're expanding geographies and role coverage as we learn from early users.
